• Upward promotes character and self-esteem in every child by:
  Providing an evaluation system that promotes equal teams and opportunities.
  Establishing a one-hour practice and game each week.
  Implementing a substitution system for each team allowing every child equal playing time.
  Creating the opportunity for every child to learn the skills of the game.

Today's sports culture has created a "win at all costs" mentality. However, Upward defines winning as learning and/or teaching lessons in the game of life. The emphasis is placed on having fun and good sportsmanship.

• When your child plays Upward Basketball, he or she will be able to:
  Practice and play a game every week.
  Get equal playing time.
  Learn techniques to improve her or his basketball skills.
  Receive special recognition awards after every game.
  Develop new friendships.
  
  
• Along with this unique sports experience, your child will receive the following:
  Upward Basketball t-shirt
  Upward Basketball jersey
  Upward Basketball playing shorts
  End of season award

- Registration goes from October 27 through December 16.
- Early registration (through November 30) is $85; After November 30, $95.

Everyone must attend one evaluation -
- Kindergarten through 6th grade boys/girls: Tuesday, November 18 between 6 and 8 p.m.
- Kindergarten through 6th grade boys/girls: Tuesday, December 16 between 6 and 8 p.m.

Practices begin the week of Monday, January 12, 2009
First game: Saturday, January 24, 2009
Awards Celebration: Monday, March 16, 2009
