AWANA Children & Youth Clubs

Enthusiastic participation is a hallmark of Spark’s story time.
|
AWANA is an international, non-denominational, Bible-centered children’s and youth
organization providing a weekly program for 3 year olds through 12th graders. Clubbers
learn the Word of God through Scripture memorization and enjoy active games, singing,
and encouraging messages. Interaction with godly leaders teaches Clubbers Christianity
in action. Children develop a firm foundation for life, based on Biblical principles
in a fun, caring and safe environment.
AWANA is offered on Thursday evenings, September 18 through May 15, 2008, 6:30-8:15
p.m. Kids can join anytime throughout the year and visitors are welcome any evening.
Cost is $30, and Clubbers also purchase a uniform and handbook. Scholarships are
available. We encourage kids and their parents to check out the Program to be sure
that AWANA is for them.

T&T Clubbers learn to apply Biblical truths in study and discussions with their
leaders.

If you would like more information, please contact our AWANA Commander Cynthia Kenyon or call the church office at 503-635-3443.
Three Elements of the Evening

Cubbies love games!
|
Game Time This is an exciting time for your child to enjoy active
games selected to be fun and appropriate for each grade level.
Handbook Time In small groups, leaders listen to children recite their
Bible verses and help them gain an understanding of Biblical truths. (1 to 4 ratio)
Council Time The entire Club gathers for singing, intriguing messages
from God’s word, theme night activities, and awards for individual handbook progress.
Incentive Activities
The AWANA Store allows Clubbers to buy items using AWANA shares which they earn
by completing handbook sections. Each Club will have special events such as ice
cream parties, bowling, and hikes to encourage Clubbers and build Club spirit. Clubbers
design and build wooden model cars for the Grand Prix car race.

Trek Theme Nights add extra fun! On “Spot Your Leader Night”, clubbers put a sticker
on their leader’s face for each handbook section they’ve completed.

Handbook Completion Camp at the Beach
This fun-filled camp weekend (May 30-June 1, 2008) is the ultimate adventure for
Clubbers from 3rd grade through 8th grade who complete a handbook this year! Averaging
two sections per week should earn a spot at camp.
Regional Activities
Bible Quizzing, T&T Games, JV Fun Bowl, and Sparks-A-Rama provide a chance for Mountain
Park Church teams to enjoy friendly competition in both Bible knowledge and the
AWANA games with other AWANA church clubs in our region.
