Statement of Faith
The purpose of
Mountain Park Church
is to Magnify Christ in making
disciples
by bringing people into Membership in His family,
building people to Maturity in His image,
equipping people for Ministry in His church,
and empowering people for Mission in His world.

We believe in one God, Creator and Lord, existing in three persons:
Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
Genesis 1:1; Isaiah 40:28; Matthew 28:19
We believe that our Lord Jesus Christ was fully God and fully man,
that he died on the cross to redeem us from the guilt and penalty of sin, and that
he rose bodily from the grave to guarantee eternal life to all who repent and believe.
John 1:1-14; John 3:16-18; Acts 2:22-39; Acts 4:12; Romans 6:23; I Corinthians 15:1-7.
We believe eternal salvation requires a personal acceptance of
Jesus as Savior and Lord. On acceptance of Christ, the Holy Spirit comes to dwell
in the believer as counselor and guide, providing the power to live as Christ's
ambassador.

We believe the Bible, both Old and New Testaments, is the inspired
Word of God, without error in all that it affirms. It is the complete revelation
of His will for salvation, and the divine and final authority in matters of doctrine
and Christian living.

We believe a Christian should be baptized according to the New
Testament [that is, believer baptism], and should participate as a responsible member
of a local church.

We believe the mission of the Church is to proclaim the Gospel,
to win others to Christ and to disciple them in God's Word and their commitment
to Him.

We believe in the visible coming again of the Lord Jesus Christ
at the end of this age, to take His people to be with Him for eternity.
